1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Async Digital Solutions (“we”, “us” or “our”) processes information through Streamer for Chromecast TVs (the “App”), including the Android application with package com.async.streamerforchromecasttvs, related support and this website.
Casting sends content you select across your local network to the receiving device. Only cast content you are authorised to display, and do not email private media to support.
2. Information we process
Depending on the features you use, the App may process:
- Device and network information: device model, operating system, app version, network state, local-network device names, addresses, identifiers, capabilities, connection state and technical logs needed to discover, connect and cast.
- App activity and diagnostics: feature use, screen interactions, crashes, performance and error information used to operate and improve the App.
- Purchase information: product, subscription status and transaction identifiers needed to provide premium access. The app store processes payments; we do not receive full payment-card details.
- Advertising information: ad impressions, interactions, approximate location inferred from IP address, consent choices, and device or diagnostic data used to deliver and measure ads where applicable. The Android App manifest is configured to remove the Advertising ID permission.
- Support communications: your email address and information you include when contacting us.
- Notification information: notification token, app instance and preferences when notifications are enabled.
3. Media, websites and casting
When you choose a feature, the App may access photos, videos, audio, files, camera output, microphone audio, drawings, website addresses, detected media URLs or playlist entries. This content is used to provide the action you request, such as previewing, compressing, sharing, mirroring or casting it. Content selected for casting is transmitted over your network to the selected TV or casting device and may be temporarily processed or served by the phone to enable playback.
Media remains on your device unless you choose to transmit, share, delete or otherwise process it. A third-party website or media provider may separately process your activity under its own policy. We do not sell your personal photos or videos.
4. Permissions
- Internet, Wi-Fi, nearby devices and local network: discover and connect to TVs, maintain casting sessions, load online content, receive configuration and provide online services.
- Location on older Android versions: required by those Android versions for Wi-Fi discovery. On newer versions, the App requests nearby Wi-Fi access and declares that it is not used to derive location.
- Photos, videos, music and files: let you select, preview, cast, compress, save or delete media you choose.
- Camera and microphone: provide live-camera casting and audio-enabled features when selected.
- Notifications: show connection, mirroring, playback, purchase or app-related updates where enabled.
- Screen capture/broadcast: mirror the screen after you approve the operating-system prompt. The system displays a clear consent prompt before capture starts.
You can deny or revoke optional permissions in device settings. The related feature may then be unavailable.
5. Service providers
The App may use third parties that process limited information under their own policies:
- Google: Firebase services such as Analytics, Cloud Messaging and Cloud Firestore; Google Play Billing; Google Mobile Ads (AdMob); and Chromecast/platform services.
- Apple: platform services and in-app purchases where the App is offered on Apple platforms.
- Websites and media sources: sites you open or services you select through web-casting, IPTV, music or video features.
Providers can process device, diagnostic, purchase, ad, network or content-request information as needed for their service. Their privacy policies and terms apply independently.
6. How information is used
We use information to provide discovery, pairing, mirroring, casting, media processing, remote and premium features; maintain sessions; process purchases; display and measure ads; send notifications; diagnose failures; prevent abuse; improve performance; respond to support; and comply with legal obligations.
7. Sharing, retention and security
We share information with service providers, receiving devices you select, authorities when legally required, and a successor in a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We retain information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, legal compliance, disputes and security. Locally stored preferences or processed media remain until removed by you, the operating system or app removal. No transmission or storage method is completely secure.
8. Your choices and rights
You can control media, camera, microphone, nearby-device, local-network, location and notification permissions in system settings; stop a cast or mirroring session; choose which media and receiving device to use; manage consent choices when shown; and manage subscriptions through the applicable store. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability for applicable personal information by contacting us. We may verify a request and retain information where law permits.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required by local law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. Contact us if you believe a child has provided such information.
10. International processing and updates
Providers may process information in countries other than yours. Safeguards are used where required. We may update this policy when the App, providers or law changes. The effective date identifies the latest version.
